I’m not sure if this only happens in England, maybe because England doesn’t have much of a hip hop presence but it really grinds my gears when white people blend Africans with African-Americans. We are not the same, at all.
Yet i hear borderline racist shit like “where’s your koolaid” I haven’t got a clue what koolaid is!
I don’t listen to gangsta rap and ironically a lot of white kids do and once in reference to the fact i don’t listen to it, someone said to me “you should be able to relate to this gangsta music… relate to this struggle”, how the hell am I supposed to know what Compton is like?
or when white kids are desperate to fist bump when they have just shook hands with everyone else
or when white kids like to call you “G” and throw westside signs in your face. It fucking pisses me off. makes me grind my teeth.
Do I look like a fucking G you moron
The thing is because of a lack of British Black Identity and an overpowering African American identity, you get black kids right from fresh off the boat africans to 3rd gen Brits who are desperate to claim an African American style scene.
Racism distorts who we are. I’m not against disunity amongst all black folk, I’m against brushing all African heritage folk with the same brush when we as a people have a greater diversity of culture, language, art, history, knowledge, music than any other race can ever claim.
This dark skin takes gold everytime in everything
Middle finger to racism.
It’s rare to find white guys who gladly accept who you are and be friends without shades of race in their attitude. RARE
