Ignorant White Christians
I’m going to be christian leader in my university next year - daunting and exciting at the same time. However I have moments of agitation in meetings.
In one meeting where we were discussing Namaan the Assyrian commander a conversation arose about worshipping different gods.
This guy starts talking about how he went to AFRICA. Before he continued I politely asked him to be specific. He said he went to Central African Republic to a remote village where he was working for a christian missionary organisation. He lived with villagers for a couple of weeks.
And then he said something truly shocking. He said “the villagers came out and danced to the gods for rain…obviously they are not westernized enough to believe in one god”

WESTERNISED ENOUGH. His words. I was too shocked to say anything.
This is not the first time I have encountered Ignorant White Christians.
I recall this one girl saying to me “Why don’t Africans just change their names to easier English names?”
Walking back from Church the other day, a conversation arose about muggings and this American girl said to me “Oh Dan, I’m sure you’ll be able to outrun anyone who tried to rob you….just look at the 100m at the olympics…”
I IGNORE these things because it’s nice to have a relaxed atmosphere with Christians. I don’t like to be confrontational but you know what, it’s annoying.
WHITE CHRISTIANS it would be Christlike for you to learn and discern carefully how you speak to Black people and Black Christians.
