Out of all the verses in Acts 24 the one that struck me the most was verse 16 where Paul says “… I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men”. I tend to have this ‘I don’t care what people think of me attitude’ especially with Christians. But Paul strives to not cause offense to fellow Christians AND non believers.

In one of the first church services I went to in university, the pastor preached on babies, love and God. It was something to do with the Virgin Mary. I don’t remember the details but something came over me and I broke down in tears and cried and cried. I still don’t know why. I’m not sure what God was trying to tell me.

One of the greatest transformations I see in the Bible is seen in Acts 20:26 when Paul says “Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men”.
Hold on, isn’t this the same man that murdered men and women of the Christian faith a couple of years ago?
The audacity to say that he is ‘innocent of the blood of ALL men’ can be seen as...

I came under a deep conviction today as I stepped into Church.
As we step into church, the moment we cross the door is when we abandon ourselves, drop our guilt, shame and sin. Stepping into church is like diplomatic immunity. We come to worship and that is so profound. Despite those things we drop at the door, we are allowed to worship. And we should do so wholeheartedly no matter what happened...

UK Office or USA Office? //not that I’ve ever watched either.
The US! You have to watch it. OH MY DAYS. There hasn’t been a funnier show since Friends.
I just watched season 6 ep 2 of The Office. And I have not laughed that hard in such a long time.

Engineer
In one of my lectures a couple of weeks ago, we were talking about CVs and Job applications for engineering. I raised my hand to ask a question about social networks because of how vocal I can be about politics with my twitter and facebook.
I said “So if i were to apply for Shell, God forbid, would I have to refrain what I say about them on twitter?”
It’s the ‘God...
thanks guys :D

Acts 17
At Berea some of the Greeks and Jews “received the Word with all readiness, and searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so”
And with such passion is how I should study the Word. It is interesting that they specify ‘daily’. Not a day should go by where we haven’t mulled over something in the Word.
Then Paul goes to Athens and is reasoning with the...

My mind is such a strange place. I have a strange almagalmation of thoughts. My imagination can take me from midnight vigilante and Hollywood romance to the depths of lust in graphic detail. I don’t know if you can tell by looking into my eyes.

In Acts 16 I am thoroughly impressed that Paul knows his right as a Roman citizen. Yes, he belongs to the kingdom of God but it doesn’t mean he is ignorant of earthly law. This is important. We must be aware of governmental structures that persecute or protect us.

Anonymous asked: What day were you born?
i’m worried that i will corrode my emotions, waste my words and passion on girls that I don’t love and then when that special one, the one that I truly want comes along I will be left with nothing but empty words, corrupted thoughts and shells of something that could have been bliss and beautiful.

So I was really stressed at the library
Went over to a girl’s flat
Got head
It felt good
And then I felt shit
I’m still stressed.
Normally during exam period I’m completely reliant on God’s favour to see me through, now I feel like I’m ‘leaning on my own understanding’.
I’ve changed.

I can do better
Whenever I reach the stage in a friendship or relationship when I know a girl likes me, I have always thought - “I can do better”.
And it is a horrible, horrible thought. It shows how much I’m never satisfied. Yes her boobs and body are great but her face, i don’t know. Or she looks amazing but she says stupid things or she hasn’t got an ass, or I like her but I...

Elite Africans
My halls of resident at university is filled with international students from across the globe - China, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Pakistan, India etc.
I want to focus on the Africans. My neighbour and friend is Portuguese / Angolan. Her parents are based in Angola but they have homes in both countries. To put it simply, she is spoilt. Her parents are ridiculously wealthy and money does not mean much...
